Los verbos reflexivos

¡Bienvenidos a mi presentación sobre los verbos reflexivos!

There are five steps to the presentation:
1) instructional video
2) pre-quiz to see how much you already know about reflexive verbs
3) powerpoint presentation on the use and conjugation of reflexive verbs
4) take the post-quiz to see how much you have learned about conjugating and using reflexive verbs
5) post a comment on the blog about whether or not this was a useful tool for learning grammatical concepts

1) Instructional video

2) Pre-quiz

3) Powerpoint presentation

4) Post-quiz
(email post-quiz answers to Benito at bwt9@nau.edu)

5) Post a comment in the section below about whether or not this was an effective way to learn about reflexive verbs

  1. I like this technique of learning because a powerpoint is provided as well as you talking. It's easier for me to understand and absorb information when I'm both seeing it and reading it. It also helps that there are the examples as to how reflexive verbs work, again helping me to absorb and understand the information. Overall I think it's very effective in learning the material.

  2. I though this presentation was effective. It was nice to have some background from the class before where you talked about reflexive verbs, so this was easier to understand the second time around. I liked how you narrated the power point, because anyone can read one by themselves, but i think that it is important especially in a language class to hear how words are pronounced, and when you narrate it, you can explain some things that might now be written out in the text. The pre quiz and post quiz are good tools for the student to know what to expect, and to see how much they've learned. Grammar is obviously something that cannot be taught in one class period, so it is good to have these presentations to revisit and relook at some things that we are at least slightly familiar with.

Overall I liked it, and thought it helped!

  3. This presentation was definitely helpful. The narration was also beneficial. Even though the powerpoint was the exact one we saw in class it was still helpful because it reinforces the key points regarding reflexive verbs and I could read it and understand the content at my own pace.

  4. This was helpful but would help me grasp this concept even more if it was more interactive. Like questions in between that tell you whether your answer is right or wrong and maybe explain why you were wrong. This is a very diffucult concept for me and I feel as though I need more practice with it so I can feel comfortable with it. But the powerpoint and quizzes were extremely helpful.

  5. Once again I enjoyed the different style of teaching. This one deffinately was not as enjoyable as the other lessons. I thought I had a good understanding of the material but I got stuck on 3 of the quiz questions so maybe showing the answer after a few attempts would help. All together it was educational and being able to watch it on our own is good.

  6. I thought that this time around it wasn't as interesting and intriguing as the last two. However, it still was a good presentation. I think what would help would be possibly showing the reflexives, like showing the action of brushing your teeth, obviously just the appropriate ones. The quizzes that go along with these presentation, I find to be really helpful.

  7. I thought this presentation was very good. I've found the reflexive verbs to be among the most difficult to grasp of all the material covered, but I feel significantly better about my understanding after viewing the presentation.

  8. i liked this presentation it helped learning a little bit in class before hand though honestly without that i wouldve probably been lost the whole time. also i think it might help even a little more if you had some pictures within this presentation when you bring up the verbs only because im more of a visual learner..other than that i liked it and thought it was beneficial

  9. This technological way of teaching is more effective when trying to teach culture and vocabulary, in my opinion. It’s a great way to reinforce what is learned in the classroom, but I feel it would be difficult to try and learn just from the power point.

  11. Hello Professor,

Your presentation was very affective! The narration behind the Powerpoint made it easy to follow and understand. I think that if you had a clip of people using the reflexive verbs after each slide to back up your lessons, that it would have been even more of an efficient way to teach these reflexive lessons. But, overall, job well done!

  12. I enjoyed this presentation. it gave me an extra chance to work with reflexive verbs. your reading along with the slides helped to hear as well as read what was going on, that really helps to get everything engrained in my head. the only problem i had with it was a very minor one and that was when the door in the background kept opening and closing, i felt it was distracting. I enjoyed this lesson and i feel you should do this in the future.

  13. I found this presentation very useful because I could see what you where saying while you said it. I have a hard time speaking Spanish. Being able to see it helps me realize how to say some of the words that I already understand.

I did however notice that on slide 2 some of the words where cut off on the sides. Also you got rid of that hum that was on the first 2 videos but this one had a door opening and closing. The door was a little distracting.

Overall very well done! And your beard looks cool on camera, just saying.
